The lovely fall leaves are floating on Ludy's Pond above the reflection of the tree from which they fell. The barren tree waits patiently for new life... which will come in brilliant verdant colors.
Letting Go (ID I-003) was photographed by Gail M2 Poole on Ludy's Pond off Highway 257, Georgia, USA in 2007. It is part of the Illusion Collection.

Letting go
is a lonely thing. It's frightening. It hurts. It leaves you feeling vulnerable, naked before the world... But, do you remember when you ran barefoot and nearly naked all the time? The slightest breeze was like a thousand little fingers marching gently across your body. The rain massaged and cooled your skin, and then the sun lightly warmed away the droplets. Every pebble, every twig, every squishing mud puddle helped your feet think their way across the yard. Your eyes rested on the butterfly, bounced with the grasshopper, and swept the sky with the bird. Your ears caught the sighing of the wind in your hair, the plop of the toad on the porch step, the mother singing through the window. You followed the smell of the pie right through the screen and tasted it before it was even cut. You were alive in every sense.
If you decide to let go, my friend... go for naked. Go for alive.
This one thing I do: forgetting what is behind me and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
~ Phil. 3:13-14
